Far and exotic

It is said that the great discoveries of our earth have all already been made. Be that as it may, when I find a lonely beach in Costa Rica or walk through a high valley in the Pamir Mountains, I still feel like Robinson Crusoe and Marco Polo. Sure, I probably won't find a treasure like Indiana Jones. Nevertheless, it is always an adventure to explore the ruins of ancient civilizations and to come into contact with foreign cultures.
